You may toast a number of characters of your choice in an opponent's
smoked pile up to the number of [Lotus] resources in your pool.
The Golden Comeback, Faked Death, Kar Fai, Quan Lo, Fighting=X killer card. This card can be a serious death knell for any deck that relies on large quantities of character based resources for success. If you build your decks around recycling characters, you're ripe to fall victim to this card.
In the early turns of a game, this can be a game breaker. I've seen it badly hose players who (unwisely, perhaps) concentrated resource requiring cards into their hands and then lost the resources to well timed Reburials.
Dig 'em up, and rebury them someplace else. It's that simple. Concentrate on toasting the big guns, and the big resource providers. It can even be worth it to do this in the early turns, when you can hose your opponent with it.
One nasty use I've had done to me... I was relying on an Ancestral Tomb to provide cover for a weaker FS site in the back row. It'd taken about 8 damage already... Lotus turn came around, he Reburied my smoked pile... smoked the Ancestral Tomb as a result and swept in to take the now undefended back row site.
Cheap, nasty, can be a hose against a player who isn't expecting it.
Nearly everyone is expecting it. If you play Lotus a lot, expect to see counters (resource sites, Event cancelling cards, lots of foundation characters).
